I enjoyed this podcast. I wrote an installation doc a couple of months ago, but without using a VM. I had to install, reinstall, and do all the sorts of things you mentioned. I don't write install docs very often, but in retrospect I wish I'd taken the time to install a VM to do it. After installing and uninstalling so many things on my Dell laptop, the hard drive crashed.
